NSW: Large tree falls on houses in Sydney's west

The weather bureau says there's no sign of a let-up in the rain that's been soakingNew South Wales coastal regions for days.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue over much of state's east today,while a severe thunderstorm warning is current for the Hunter region and mid-north coast.

In the last 24 hours Coffs Harbour received the most rain with 211mm - a record for the area.

A bureau spokesman says Coffs Harbour has now been hit with up to 400mm of rain overthe last two days.
